BACKGROUND

​

     My name is Michael Black and I am the attorney at Evergreen Tax Law, LLC; a new firm, looking to build its reputation in the Central Florida area.

 

     I received my law degree from the Florida State University College of Law and since becoming a member of the Florida Bar, I have focused my career in the areas of tax law and planning, business law and planning, and estate planning.

 

     An Orlando native, I was born and raised here, attending Winter Park High School and completing my undergraduate studies at the University of Florida. I recently returned to the area after spending the last few years as an attorney at a tax law firm in Tallahassee, Florida. 

 

     Prior to law school, I received my Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Central Florida. My MBA degree gave me a strong foundation in areas such as business accounting, business ethics, business management, finance, and other important aspects of the business world which I use in my law practice on a daily basis. 

 

     While completing my M.B.A., I was also employed at a large financial company. Much of the work I did there centered on financial planning and assisting clients in building and protecting their assets in preparation for retirement. This experience illustrated for me the importance of tax law and tax planning, while also showing me the value in good client service and proper planning for the future.

 

     My law practice is concentrated in the areas of tax law, business law, and estate planning. This allows me to combine my business and legal experience in order to focus on protecting my clients’ assets, and therefore, my clients’ futures.

 

     As a tax attorney in Tallahassee, Florida, I gained years of experience in negotiating and handling client issues before the Internal Revenue Service. I have extensive experience in representing individuals and businesses facing IRS collection activities, including liens, levies, installment agreements, Offers in Compromise, Collection Due Process hearings, and Trust Fund Recovery Penalties for payroll tax issues.

 

     Besides being a member of the Florida Bar, I am also a member of the United States Tax Court, as well as the Orange County Bar Association, and the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar.
